Salt//Mud was born alongside my children.

Amidst the tireless nights and endless routines, I became aware of how little I had nourished a creative life and community, a sacrifice expected of all mothers. I created this undertaking to fulfill that neglected part of my life but to also find means to connect other mothers feeling equally removed and forgotten.

Womanhood exists in hushed rooms and inner circles that you only find yourself invited to through sudden rebirths. Quietly and through immense pain, we transform.

To be a woman is to be changed.

I create art and upcycle clothing with intention. However, my purpose is for this project is to speak for any mothers who have found themselves slipping beneath the couch cushions.
